Schedule
* Any day Sunday through Saturday, between 6am-6pm
Education Qualifications
* Master's degree in nursing. Graduate from a certified nurse midwife education program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives
Experience and Other Qualifications
* Have a minimum of two (2) years of full‑time experience working as a CNM within the past three (3) years.
* Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse
* Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
* Must have a current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
Job duties may include but are not limited to:
* Perform physical assessment and exam with special emphasis on the reproductive health, sexual health, psychosocial and OBGYN history of the patient.
* Manage the care of normal antepartum women to include teaching, counseling and support.
* Manage uncomplicated pregnancies independently (inclusive of teaching, counseling and support).
* Manage complicated pregnancies through consultation and/or collaboration with OBGYN medical staff.
* Consult with other specialists, clinics, or health resources as indicated.
* Write prescriptions for needed medications including but not limited to contraceptive, diabetic, psychiatric, thyroid, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and pain management.
* Order laboratory tests and radiographic procedures as needed for diagnosis.
* Assess and treat the acute OBGYN patient with episodic illnesses and consults when needed.
* Assess and treat minor gynecological problems and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
* Treat partners of OBGYN patients with STDs.
* Develop health promotion and maintenance plans including disease prevention and health education counseling.
* Provide periodic health screening.
* Admit and discharge patients to and from OBGYN inpatient services.
* Facilitate transfer of care to another facility.
* Manage patients in labor, including inpatient orders, amniotomy, external and internal monitoring, initiation of induction/augmentation agents and analgesia using intramuscular and intravenous narcotics and potentiators, and local anesthesia administration.
* Manage cephalic deliveries, including repair of laceration or episiotomy.
* Assess and manage uncomplicated postpartum patients.
* Manage newborns, including airway management, resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, assignment of Apgar scores and initial examination.
* Identify and manage medical emergencies including but not limited to shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, uterine inversion, cord prolapse, and eclampsia.
* Provide clinical guidance for residents, trainees, students, rotators, new or temporary department members and other hospital staff.
* Maintain communications with professional organizations as necessary for career development, licensure and clinical continuing education.
* Provide comprehensive primary care to a select population of essentially healthy women and their babies in a variety of settings to include prenatal care, intrapartum management, postpartum care, immediate newborn care, and well‑woman visits.
