An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic individual to join our well established Advanced Critical Care Practitioner (ACCP) team. South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a highly regarded organisation. Main duties of the job
Successful selection will be dependent upon proven experience in critical care and your ability to demonstrate the motivation and competence required within an advanced practice role. You will be required to complete / have successfully completed the Masters/Postgraduate Diploma Advanced Clinical Practice (Critical Care) or equivalent.
You will work closely with the medical team as a member of the medical rota across the 24/7 period as an advanced practitioner, assessing and managing critically ill patients and prescribing independently as an integral part of the Critical Care team. You will also be involved in, and lead on education and audit/project work.
We are committed to supporting your professional development with appropriate supervision from your Medical colleagues, whilst enabling you to play a key role within the multi-professional team.
This role is integral to the safe and effective delivery of critical care services both now and in the future at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* oRegistered health care professional (nursing or physiotherapy) with associated degree
* oNon-medical prescribing
Experience
* oSignificant experience in cardiothoracic critical care
* oExperience of clinical leadership within an acute setting
* oExperience of undertaking audit
* oAdvanced level experience and familiarity with Cardiothoracic procedures
Knowledge
* oExpert level of knowledge in the area of management of critical care patients
* oKnowledge of strategic issues which influence management of critically ill patients
Skills
* oAdvanced clinical skills in specialty.
* oAbility to prioritise a complex workload and work within a rapidly changing environment
* oAbility to work under pressure
* oAbility to work independently
* oInitiate changes in practice
