Overview

Equans is looking for an Account Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role: 40 hours per week. The role offers a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

Harwell is Moderna’s Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC) site responsible for the development and manufacture of its pharmaceutical products. The site includes manufacturing, clean rooms, laboratory, office and plant areas. The maintenance of HVAC equipment is critical to keep production and science operations running. This is a customer-facing role, suited to an operator who leads by example and spends significant time engaging with and delivering on the customers’ requirements.


What will you deliver?

* Delivery and management of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works
* Lead stakeholder management across client operational area owners, ensuring strong, collaborative relationships within Plant, Laboratory, and Manufacturing environments
* Proactively ensure the service agreement between EQUANS and Moderna is delivered with professionalism, achieving contractual key deliverables
* Actively gather and respond to customer feedback, using insights to refine service delivery and meet evolving client requirements; demonstrate effective control of the environment
* Promote an open, transparent, and solutions-driven management style, encouraging continuous improvement, professional development, and effective problem-solving among team members and client stakeholders
* Provide clear, influential communication through expert advice, leadership presence, and proactive participation in client management meetings, briefings, consultation forums, and formal correspondence
* Deliver accurate and timely reporting, including monthly performance reports and ad-hoc updates, ensuring visibility of operational performance, risk analysis, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities
* Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations across diverse stakeholder groups, ensuring safe, efficient, and legally compliant operations
* Meet or exceed SLA and KPI requirements as defined within the contract, ensuring KPI penalties are not incurred
* Guarantee timely completion of all PPM and reactive maintenance tasks, with work recorded in real time within the CAFM system
* Review PPM plans to ensure suitability and make recommendations to enhance asset reliability while minimising downtime
* Promptly resolve plant faults and defects to maintain asset reliability and safeguard operations
* Fully document maintenance and operational activities with clear evidence of task completion and compliance
* Maintain robust adherence to ISO-aligned Quality Management Systems, with required records, processes and audits kept up to standard
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise service delivery through process enhancements and best-practice methodologies
* Manage safety, health, environment and quality risks using risk assessments, PPE, training and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
* Lead, mentor and develop the on-site multi-disciplinary FM team, including engineering and administration, ensuring capability aligns with operational goals
* Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery
* Maintain a strong commercial understanding of contractual deliverables across the full-service scope and identify opportunities for added value
* Minimise organisational risk by applying checks, controls and due diligence; maintain a RAG-status Risk Register and effective risk mitigation
* Manage costs and maximise profitability; ensure financial performance aligns with budget and contractual requirements
* Monitor and control work-in-progress (WIP) and debt levels; ensure timely billing and cashflow
* Deliver against client-set financial budget targets with accurate forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting

Who are we looking for?

* Extensive facilities management experience at managerial level, preferably in the pharmaceutical or regulated industry
* Hard FM recognised technical qualification in a relevant engineering field
* Experience managing FM within pharmaceutical or process-controlled environments; knowledge of GxP and GMP
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Ability to develop and review SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
* Proficiency in facility management software and systems (CMMS, Maximo preferred)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Full clean driving licence
* Team player with client relationship-building skills
* Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
* Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota; occasional late hours may be required
* DBS Standard check required
