Our client is undertaking various surveying roles across the UK, including a significant commission for the Department for Education, covering 7,300 properties in England over five years. The role involves visual assessments of building conditions, recorded via a tablet application or report template.
They are now seeking a Building Condition Surveyor to join the team and provide core surveying services across diverse properties.
REQUIREMENTS
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct Building Fabric condition surveys.
– Support business objectives by delivering value for money.
– Perform duties efficiently according to processes and procedures.
– Comply with commercial, procurement, and contractual strategies.
– Adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality Standards.
– Manage construction and engineering contractor selection and oversight.
– Hold pre-survey meetings with client representatives.
– Perform Building Stock Condition Surveys.
– Use tablet technology to update the asset management system.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate is proactive, committed to customer service excellence, and achieves strong commercial results.
– Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent experience.
– 2 years’ experience in building fabric condition assessment.
– Enhanced DBS Clearance (can be obtained upon application).
– Proficiency with tablet-based data collection.
– Willingness to travel nationally.
– Commitment to obtaining professional registration within 3 years (MCIOB, MRICS, or similar).
– Organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, and commercially astute.
– Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
– Strong customer service and client interface skills.
– Own vehicle with a full UK license required.
– Advise and liaise with internal project and cost control teams.
– Develop Commercial and Acquisition Strategies.
