As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Chief Technology Officer will have overall responsibility for change, technology, and business intelligence.
This role requires utilising technology to drive efficiencies in IT, data, and change management across the business, along with the ability to engage in detailed technical discussions while maintaining a strategic overview.
This role falls under SM&CR and holds SMF 24 responsibilities.
* Significant management experience at senior level in IT and change field, including operating at a strategic level.
* Project management of third-party IT projects.
* Digital strategy development and implementation.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Maintain and communicate a vision of how IS will support future business direction, relationships, and working practices, championing the use of innovation to support the Group’s growth ambitions.
* Develop a coherent digitally enabled IT strategy for adoption by the Board, and manage its tactical implementation while continually reviewing it in light of business direction, economic conditions, and technological developments.
* Lead the digital transformation of the Group, having co-created the digitally enabled IS strategy.
* Influence the Executive Committee in setting priorities and direction for IS resources and capabilities, including reviewing major IS initiatives to ensure full business case coverage, alignment with strategy, and appropriate resourcing.
* Manage changes to the application and infrastructure estate to meet operational resilience needs, including cyber security, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
* Ensure IS operating policies and procedures are robust and compliant, taking remedial actions when weaknesses are identified.
* Identify, evaluate, and manage significant risks within the IS Department and report on risks across the Group.
Leadership & Management
* Communicate goals and foster an innovative culture among staff.
* Act as an ambassador for Hodge, enhancing brand awareness and attractiveness as a partner and employer.
* Lead and motivate Change, BI, and IT teams to achieve objectives.
* Oversee resourcing and training needs, ensuring sufficient and competent staff are in place.
* Develop and maintain an Enterprise Architecture view.
* Manage IT, BI, and change budgets, controlling costs and monitoring variances.
Portfolio, Programme and Project Management
* Define and maintain change governance processes.
* Manage activities from strategy to portfolio, ensuring coherence and realization of strategic goals.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and benefits targets.
* Deliver change in accordance with governance models.
General:
* Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations, including GDPR, Money Laundering, Health & Safety, PRA/FCA regulations, employment law, etc.
* Undertake additional tasks as assigned by senior management.
* Maintain knowledge of compliance and risk regulations related to products/services.
* Support the organisation’s risk culture through personal responsibility for risk management.
