Receptionist

Salary: £6,551 (Pro rata of £25,552)
Hours: 10 Per Week

The Role
They are looking for experienced Receptionist to join their friendly team based at the Centre of Wellbeing in Craigmillar. The vacancy available includes the following hours:
Monday: 1pm 6pm
Friday: 12pm 5pm
They would also consider Monday and Tuesday.
This role requires flexibility to cover absences, attend meetings and training out of normal hours.
Key Responsibilities
To provide a friendly, welcoming, first point of contact for people visiting the organisation
To be approachable and be able to direct/assist people to access the people or service they have come to visit or use
To take telephone calls and forward them or take and pass on accurate messages, as required
To deal with outgoing mail and ensure distribution of parcels and other deliveries to appropriate individuals and departments
To provide administrative and typing support, where required
To assist in the management of room bookings by internal and external users
To produce ID passes for staff, tenants, volunteers and new gym members
Process gym memberships, including taking payments and liaising with Health and Wellbeing staff
Manage bookings for exercise classes
To work flexibly with the other team members to ensure the requirements of the reception service are met. This will include covering for other team members absence
To demonstrate an understanding of and participate in Health and Safety practices
Skills and Qualifications
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Previous switch board experience is desirable, coupled with a knowledge and understanding of the customers the organisation supports
Able to act with diplomacy and have a friendly and approachable manner
Excellent typing and computing skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
Able to maintain paper and electronic filing systems
Able to work with others proactively to problem solve
Able to be proactive in organising own training, workload and liaising with other team members to coordinate holidays and absence cover
Responsible attitude to time management
Understanding and empathy with the organisations aims and values
Experience in the voluntary sector an asset
