Rentals - Freight Driver

We’re looking for a motivated, friendly, and reliable team member to take the lead in distributing rental equipment across our Cardrona, Treble Cone, Wānaka, and Queenstown locations - while also delivering exceptional on‑mountain guest experiences. If you love variety, responsibility, and working with a tight-knit team, this role is for you.
As our Rentals Freight Driver, you’ll work across both Cardrona and Treble Cone rental operations, helping us maintain consistent service, shared values, and smooth logistics across all sites.
A big part of your day will be helping guests find the perfect fit (boots, skis, snowboards, poles) while sharing your knowledge and friendly support. You’ll also keep our rental fleet organised, identify equipment needing repair, and coordinate with our workshop team.
You’ll also support the setup of group bookings (including some evening work) and play a hands-on role in maintaining the quality of our rental fleet.
What will you be doing?
1. Provide expert boot and equipment fitting for guests and staff, plus advice on upgrades.
2. Coordinate movement of rental equipment across all outlets in collaboration with Rentals leadership.
3. Inspect winter rental gear; complete or communicate repairs to the workshop team.
4. Support mountain departments with operational or service tasks as required.
5. Report any maintenance needs relating to buildings or equipment.
Who are we looking for?
6. 2+ years’ experience in a ski rental environment, including basic equipment repairs.
7. Strong organisational and admin skills; able to plan ahead and handle multiple priorities.
8. Excellent communication and people skills; able to positively influence and support others.
9. Calm and effective under pressure; thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
10. Willingness to participate in ongoing training, feedback, and development.
11. Motivated, accountable, and reliable with a strong work ethic
12. A clean and valid driver licence; experience on mountain roads and fitting chains is an advantage.
