Job Advert: Primary School Teaching Assistant (SEND Support)
Location: Burnley, East Lancashire
Hours: Part-time, mornings only (number of mornings per week to be determined)
Contract: Term-time only
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming mainstream primary school in Burnley. This is a part-time role, working across year groups to provide additional support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support children with a range of SEND needs to access learning in the classroom.
* Work closely with class teachers to adapt activities and provide targeted interventions.
* Build positive relationships with pupils to help them feel confident, safe, and valued.
* Encourage independence and social interaction.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
About You
We are seeking someone who is:
* Patient, nurturing, and committed to inclusive education.
* Able to work flexibly across different age groups.
* A good communicator, both with children and adults.
* Willing to work as part of a team and follow teacher guidance.
* Experience of supporting children with SEND is desirable but not essential — the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
