Overview
Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the Delivery Business Lead will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of a capital programme across Severn Trent's waste infrastructure project portfolio to time, to quality and to budget, with individual projects ranging up to hundreds of millions of pounds. Forming a crucial part of our Capital Delivery leadership team, you will drive real efficiency through sustained performance improvement and innovative ways of working, helping us to achieve our most ambitious 5-year period ever. You will provide inspirational leadership to deliver a step change in performance to secure delivery of a large scale and complex capital portfolio ranging in value from £400m - £600m. Whilst instilling industry best practise, you will utilise our specialist in-house design and commercial teams, as well as our supply chain partners to effectively ensure our complex programmes are delivered within the required criteria. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will grow the business’s capacity and capability to help shape our longer-term strategy ensuring your teams are set up for success entering the next business planning period.
Responsibilities
End-to-end delivery of a capital programme across Severn Trent\'s waste infrastructure project portfolio, ensuring delivery to time, budget and quality.
Drive sustained performance improvement and innovative ways of working as part of the Capital Delivery leadership team.
Provide inspirational leadership to deliver a step change in performance for a large, complex portfolio (£400m - £600m).
Utilise in-house design and commercial teams and collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure programmes are delivered within required criteria.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to grow capacity and capability and shape longer-term strategy for the next business planning period.
Qualifications
Experience in an asset-intensive industry (e.g., water, rail, highways, nuclear, utilities, telecoms or similar) within a large matrix organisation.
Proven track record of ownership and end-to-end delivery of large, complex multi-disciplinary projects, with collaboration with contract partners and diverse stakeholders.
Experience developing and delivering through highly capable, high-performing teams; operating in an asset-intensive environment where programme activity, innovation and process are key.
Experience in talent development, building high-performing teams and fostering a performance-driven culture.
Ability to work collaboratively with peers to drive best-in-class performance and proven success in delivering strong financial and operational outcomes in multi-faceted organisations.
Right character, positivity and caring attitude; willingness to engage with diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds.
