The successful candidate will support the existing Head of QA/QC in managing the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS), ensuring full compliance with MHRA guidance and maintaining high standards in the provision of parenteral SACT, CIVAS, and over-labelled products during a period of workforce challenges.
The duties of the Head of QA/QC include authorising all systems of work and documentation in the aseptic dispensing unit and other licensed areas (e.g., over-labelling), overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the PQS to meet cGMP and MHRA requirements. The candidate will ensure adherence to the PQS through appropriate training and motivation of all Pharmacy Production and QA staff.
This is a fixed-term position for 3-6 months based at Wansbeck General Hospital in Ashington, Northumberland, supporting a manufacturing unit with a license from the MHRA, producing over 57,000 units annually, with plans to increase to 100,000. The unit supplies systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) and over-labelled products across Trust sites.
