We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our CAMHS Eating Disorders Team. We provide specialist assessment and treatment for young people up to 18 with Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder and ARFID, as well as comorbid issues such as low mood, anxiety and neurodiversity.
You will join a diverse multidisciplinary team with strong nursing structures, a robust induction and ongoing training. We work collaboratively with regular joint working, peer support and clinical supervision.
Ideally you are a qualified mental health nurse with NMC registration and experience supporting young people with complex mental health needs in community settings.
Responsibilities
* Support duty service with initial telephone triage
* Provide specialist assessments
* Deliver therapeutic interventions
* Provide specialist assessment and intervention to children and young people and their families
* Attend MDT meetings, take part in formulation discussions, hold clinical responsibility for patients and work with families and wider networks such as social care and schools
* Assess eating disorders alongside comorbid difficulties such as trauma‑related symptoms and contribute to assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions
* Provide therapeutic input for eating disorders and for comorbid difficulties such as low mood and anxiety as part of first‑line treatment
* Support duty triage by offering initial telephone reviews for new referrals
Qualifications
* Qualified mental health nurse with NMC registration
* Experience supporting young people with complex mental health needs in community settings
* Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
* Experience with eating disorders or neurodevelopmental conditions is helpful but not essential
