Role Objective:
We are looking to engage a seasoned Business Consultant with proven expertise in China market entry strategy, specifically within the study abroad, education consultancy, or edtech domains. The consultant will lead the development and execution of Zoom Abroad’s go-to-market strategy in China, ensuring cultural fit, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities:1. Market Research & Feasibility Analysis
* Conduct an in-depth analysis of the Chinese international education market, including student behavior, competitor landscape, regulatory environment, and digital habits.
* Identify viable regions, demographic segments, and student needs Zoom Abroad can address.
* Evaluate opportunities across B2C and B2B (agents, schools, colleges, counselors) models.
2. Go-To-Market Strategy
* Develop a comprehensive China market entry strategy: positioning, value proposition, pricing, and service localisation.
* Advise on localisation of digital platform, content, and marketing to resonate with Chinese students and parents.
* Identify key marketing channels (WeChat, Douyin, Baidu, Bilibili, etc.) and recommend a practical media and influencer plan.
3. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
* Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders such as:
* Local education agents and consultants.
* Chinese schools and universities.
* Industry bodies, student forums, and influencers.
* Recommend trusted legal, translation, and operational partners in China.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
* Provide guidance on Chinese regulatory, data privacy, and business compliance laws (e.g., ICP license, partnership structure, online marketing laws).
* Recommend the right business structure (Rep office, WFOE, JV, etc.) for long-term setup.
5. Sales & Revenue Plan
* Propose a pilot revenue model and scalable monetisation strategy (direct student recruitment, commissions from universities, advisory services, etc.).
* Assist in defining KPIs, timelines, and performance metrics for a successful launch.
Qualifications & Experience:Must-Have:
* 2+ years of proven experience, ideally in the education, study abroad, or edtech sector.
* Strong understanding of Chinese student motivations, education trends, and parental influences.
* Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken).
* Network of trusted local contacts (agents, translators, partners, regulators) in China.
* Master's degree from a reputed institution
Preferred:
* First-hand experience of international education.
* Experience working with international student recruitment businesses or universities expanding into China.
* Background in digital marketing within the Chinese ecosystem.
* MBA or Master’s in Business, Marketing, International Relations or related fields.

Compensation:
£48,000 - £50,000
