Regional Maintenance & Engineering Manager South Wales to West London (Regional Role) Overview We are looking for an experienced Regional Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead maintenance service delivery across a large-scale retail estate. This is a dynamic, hands-on role responsible for ensuring both reactive and planned maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with KPIs and service standards. You’ll manage a team of engineers and specialist subcontractors, while maintaining a strong on-site presence for critical issues and providing effective remote coordination across the region. Key Responsibilities Oversee maintenance operations across a multi-site retail portfolio spanning South Wales to West London Lead and support a team of multi-skilled engineers, alongside a network of subcontractors Manage reactive maintenance, including escalations and critical on-site incidents (e.g. HVAC failures, faults, plant issues) Ensure the successful delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes Take ownership of KPI and SLA performance, driving service excellence Attend sites as required, particularly for high-priority or complex issues Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and value Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and provide regular performance updates Ensure all work is delivered in line with health & safety regulations and company standards About You Proven experience in a regional or multi-site maintenance/service management role within retail or FM environments Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, with a good understanding of maintenance Experience managing both direct engineering teams and subcontractors Track record of delivering both reactive and planned maintenance services Strong understanding of KPI/SLA management and continuous improvement Ability to manage a geographically dispersed workforce Hands-on approach with a willingness to attend sites when required Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills Desirable Relevant technical qualifications (mechanical, HVAC, or electrical) Experience within large-scale retail environments Knowledge of compliance and statutory maintenance requirements What We’re Looking For A proactive, solutions-focused mindset Strong leadership and confident decision-making skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, reactive environment High level of accountability and ownership Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement
