Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer (Modular) based in Blackburn.
Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer (Modular) will be part of an excellent engineering team, known for strong communication, ambition, and innovation. You will collaborate across multiple disciplines to gain a comprehensive understanding of the product lifecycle and apply the technical skills required for this role. You will also liaise with Project Managers and the Electrical Design Manager, supporting the development of a library of standard modular drawings.
What a typical day looks like:
1. Creating electrical designs for switchboards and related products, ready for production and fabrication.
2. Ensuring drawings issued to the shop floor are controlled, accurate, and easy to follow.
3. Assisting Production and Testing teams to resolve issues with new and existing product designs.
4. Supporting shop floor operations, site operations, and client witness testing as needed.
5. Proactively identifying, mitigating, and resolving risks; recognizing opportunities and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Participating in team development and goal achievement, promoting engineering excellence, and driving continuous improvement activities within Engineering and Production.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
1. Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering, either in production or design.
2. Knowledge of switchgear is advantageous.
3. Experience with 2D design using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical is beneficial.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Creative, enthusiastic, proactive, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Ability to work confidently under pressure and manage multiple objectives.
