Job description
Montrose London is a dynamic and fast growing medial practice with a particular focus on dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetics.
We require a skilled Health Care Assistant with training in phlebotomy to assist in the day to day running of our minor operating room and theatre.
We are looking for a colleague who will personify our professional, friendly, and proactive company.
As one of our team you will have regular interaction with all our clients and will be expected to maintain the highest standard of professionalism and service.
Experience
A minimum 2 years experience as a health care assistant and phlebotomist either privately or in the NHS.
Main responsibilities
Phlebotomy
Our busy dermatology service requires us to undertake several dozen blood tests per week. You will be required to run regular clinics to take bloods and may on occasion be called to undertake an ad hoc test when not busy in theatre/MOPS.
Theatre/MOPS
You will:
Be responsible for stocking the theatre and MOPs rooms to ensure they always have the necessary equipment and consumables.
Prepare the list for theatre and any active MOPs rooms and ensure that all equipment and consumables are ready for the use of the surgeons.
Support the surgical team in the managing of the consent process
Act as a member of the circulating team assisting with tasks such as: documentation, photography (where required), surgical counts, WHO checklist and handling specimens.
Maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures
Ensure that the MOPs rooms and theatre are always cleaned in accordance with the cleaning protocols and kept fully compliant with the infection control procedures
Clean the theatre and MOPs rooms between cases
Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery, including where appropriate the safe positioning
Aesthetics
When not engaged with phlebotomy or theatre/MOPS work, you may be required to assist with the clinic’s aesthetics practice. This work may include:
Stocking the injectables rooms to ensure they always have the necessary equipment and consumables
Support the doctors in managing the consent process
Assist with tasks such as: documentation, photography (where required), allocating and recording products used by the doctors
Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure and ensure the room is cleaned in accordance with the cleaning protocols and kept fully compliant with the infection control procedures
General requirements
Monitor and support patients throughout procedures, ensuring they are comfortable throughout
Participate in any training that is deemed necessary for your role
Adhere to all policies and procedures and assist, where required in their further development
Enhance full compliance with all regulatory standards
Follow all clinical governance requirements
Chaperone patients where required to do so
Assist the medical director with audits when required
