About the team and the role
We want to make the shopping experience for our customers as simple, smart and inspiring as possible, whilst hitting commercial goals. As part of the Retail Excellence team, it’s our job to inspire customers and ensure all events follow a smooth customer journey through brilliant shop‑keeping.
As an Merchandising and Events (Ecommerce) Executive, you will play a key role in planning, briefing, executing and optimising onsite merchandising and events on Ocado. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and creative teams to deliver campaigns on time, use merchandising levers to optimise the site and events to drive trade, and continuously review and act upon performance data.
What you’ll do
* Develop an in-depth knowledge of customers and their shopping behaviours, using a suite of data and insight sources and tools (eg ContentSquare, Tableau).
* Review and analyse data and insight to report on Ecommerce KPI performance, with actions executed to improve performance.
* Utilise all available merchandising levers to drive conversion through customer friendly and commercially‑savvy decisions, driving customer journey optimisation.
* Ensure that all Events & Campaigns are up to date and relevant for the customer closely following the Ecommerce sitemap and Customer Marketing Calendar.
* Responsible for the tagging of new products to site and ensuring primary tagging represents what good looks like.
* Ensure search including key seasonal searches are optimised during each seasonal phase.
* Carry out daily site walks across all key landing pages, including the Homepage, search & offer pages to ensure high quality merchandising execution.
* Use various systems (eg Contentful) to launch, optimise and update campaigns, product listings, content and key pages: including media assets and tagging.
* Update and manage the top level media execution onsite including the homepage, checkout walk, slot booking and various other pages.
* Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
* Monitor other ecommerce sites to share best practice and innovation that drives optimisation and testing within Ocado.
Who you are
* Experience in an Ecommerce role.
* You’ll have excellent attention to detail skills, with an eye for detail to be able to provide accurate and high quality work.
* Competent and confident working on internal systems, spreadsheets and presentations.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* PC literate, including Excel, as well as a quick learner, as the role will require the use of a number of different internal systems.
* A problem solver who is organised and able to balance multiple priorities at once.
* Customer focused; the more you can understand our customers’ needs, the easier and more fulfilling this job will be.
* Results orientated – Proactive and focused on delivery of successful outcomes for the team and ORL. Bases decisions on solid rationale supported by data and insights, takes ownership of issues and decisions.
