About the role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Outreach Workers to join our experienced team of professionals. As an Outreach Worker, you will support students with ASC both in class and on school trips, ensuring their learning, safety, and emotional well-being at all times. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning experiences that meet each student’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
* Act as an Outreach Worker, assisting students during community visits and school trips.
* Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
* Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
* Support teachers with lesson delivery and behaviour management.
* Promote independence, confidence, and life skills among students.

Mary Elliot Academy is a specialist SEND provision serving students aged 11–18 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Outreach Worker you will:
* At least 1 year’s experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEND) setting or personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
* A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo one).
* A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
* At least 1 year’s experience in a Special Educational Needs (SEND) setting or personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
