Job description

Job Title: Lecturer in Health and Social Care

Company: Regent College London

Salary: Up to 45k per annum

Reports to: Faculty Manager

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 9am-9pm, Friday-Sunday 9am-6pm

Location: Flexible to work across Wembley and Kingsbury Campus Sites

Start Date: Interviewing now; roles available from 11 August 2025 or 1 September 2025, subject to successful interview

Overall purpose

The Lecturer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering learning and teaching materials across modules or within a subject area. The role will be hybrid (face-to-face and online), ensuring student engagement, achievement of learning outcomes, and a high-quality student experience. The lecturer may also support students across programs in their learning journey.


Specific duties and responsibilities


Teaching and Learning

* Teach scheduled sessions weekly, including lectures, seminars, tutorials.
* Maintain attendance registers and collaborate with the attendance team to ensure accurate digital records.
* Deliver sessions aligned with approved programme and module specifications.
* Work with Regent Digital provisions, including VLEs and MS Teams.
* Ensure student engagement during sessions.
* Develop teaching materials for modules.
* Suggest improvements to enhance student academic experience.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop or revise module content and structure.


Assessment and Marking

* Set assessments and ensure 90%+ submission rate on time.
* Support assessment production and approval processes.
* Participate in standardisation and moderation meetings.
* Provide formative feedback to students.
* Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
* Identify and escalate academic misconduct cases.


Student support

* Address student engagement or performance issues, referring to specialist services when needed.
* Handle pastoral requirements and signpost students accordingly.
* Monitor progress of students' Learning Support Plans and liaise with services.


Quality assurance

* Provide module evaluation reports.
* Contribute to programme evaluations and continuous improvement.
* Participate in programme committee meetings.
* Engage with quality assurance frameworks and reflect on student feedback.
* Contribute to accreditation and quality control processes.


Scholarship

* Engage in scholarship activities to support teaching and update knowledge.
* Apply scholarship knowledge to teaching and external activities.
* Support the School’s Scholarship Plan.


Managing people and resources

* Coordinate with colleagues and support staff as module leader.
* Manage projects related to your area of work.
* Coordinate work of others, such as associate lecturers.
* Design and deliver own modules and assessments.
* Support student recruitment and marketing activities.
* Address issues affecting delivery quality, escalating as needed.
