Supply Teacher – flexible General Cover Role – Swinton, Salford - Step Teachers
We are seeking a qualified teacher to join a high-performing secondary school in Swinton, Salford as a Supply Teacher / General Cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator or early-career teacher looking for flexible work, without the additional responsibilities of a permanent teaching role. You will deliver lessons across KS3 and KS4 using pre-set plans, maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. Therefore you will need to be able to adapt across subjects, as well as differing needs and levels of pupils.
Role: Qualified Supply Teacher / General Cover Teacher
Location: Swinton, Salford
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Flexible – Day-to-day, short-term or long-term cover available.
Hours: 8:15am – 3:15pm.
Pay: Up to £185/day DOE (Paid PAYE).
Equal pay to permanent staff from week 13.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons to a high standard across a range of subjects.
* Ensure a positive and productive learning environment in the teacher’s absence.
* Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
* Provide feedback to departments and contribute to the smooth running of the school day.
* Support the pastoral and academic development of students where required.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or overseas equivalent – secondary experience required.
* ECTs are welcome to apply.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* CV with 10 year history.
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Photo ID and Proof of Address.
* Overseas Police check if applicable.
* References covering the last 2 years.
* Strong behaviour management and adaptable teaching approach.
* Confident, reliable and professional classroom presence.
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and UK curriculum expectations.
