We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working hours:
4 on 4 off, 6pm-6am.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery and collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTF and drivers' hours legislation.
Key Duties:
1. Creating and updating daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines.
2. Ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained in collaboration with other departments.
3. Planning runs using the driver rota, considering shift patterns, holidays, and sickness.
4. Ensuring legal compliance regarding defects, services, MOTs, etc.
5. Maintaining clear communication with drivers regarding start times, load info, directions, and shifts.
6. Ensuring adherence to statutory, legal, and health and safety requirements.
7. Assisting with disciplinary procedures, return-to-work meetings, and other HR-related activities to maintain standards.
Qualifications:
* Proven knowledge of tachograph and driving regulations.
* Transport experience in FMCG environment (desirable).
* Strong planning and organisational skills.
* Management or supervisory experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers’ hours.
* CPC National (desirable but not essential).
