About the Role: Eaton Syalon is working with a Derby-based business to recruit a Temporary Credit Control Officer to join their finance team. The role will focus on managing aged debt, ensuring timely collections, and providing accurate financial information to the finance team and wider business as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, making headway on outstanding balances and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage customer accounts and proactively follow up on overdue invoices.
Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to recover outstanding balances.
Resolve payment queries or disputes efficiently, escalating where necessary.
Maintain accurate records of collections activity in the finance system.
Work closely with the finance team to monitor aged debt and implement effective recovery strategies.
Achieve individual and team collection targets.
Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required.
Essential Experience & Skills:
Previous credit control or collections experience.
Strong understanding of credit control processes and aged debt management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proactive, organised, and able to hit the ground running.
Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
