Our team delivers innovative solutions to the complex challenges our clients face. Our company is split into two business areas: Utility Infrastructure and Social Infrastructure.
* Utility Infrastructure – Our team designs, builds and maintains critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.
* Social Infrastructure – Our team revitalises homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment and maintenance.
Location: Based from either our Walsall, Warrington, or Trafford office.
Role
Pre‑Construction Manager – We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead all aspects of the pre‑construction phase, ensuring projects are set up for success from day one.
Experience in planned works is essential, with a proven background in refurbishment, retrofit, and high‑rise residential schemes.
Technical & Industry Expertise
* In‑depth knowledge of fire safety regulations: Building Safety Act 2022, Approved Document B, PAS 9980, BS 8414
* Experience in design coordination and value engineering during pre‑construction
* Strong ability to interpret, critique, and challenge architectural and engineering drawings
* Experience providing pre‑construction input on refurbishment projects, retrofit schemes (including energy efficiency and decarbonisation), and high‑rise buildings
Project & Commercial Acumen
* Early‑stage project planning including scope definition, risk identification & mitigation, and programme development
* Understanding of procurement strategies, supply chain engagement, and supporting QS teams with cost planning and budget development
* Experience working with public sector clients, framework agreements, and GLA and DLUHC‑funded schemes
Stakeholder & Team Management
* Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients, design consultants, fire engineers, and internal commercial, design & delivery teams
Key responsibilities
* Leading design team meetings
* Driving progress and decision‑making
* Supporting bid submissions and client presentations
* Cross‑functional collaboration to ensure design, compliance & delivery alignment
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
* Building Control processes, including Gateway 2 submissions
* Golden Thread principles and digital record‑keeping
* Resident engagement requirements under the Building Safety Regulator
Qualifications
Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or similar.
Membership of CIOB, RICS, or similar professional body. Proficiency in tools such as:
* MS Project
* BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks)
* Document control systems (e.g., Aconex)
