Job Description:
Company Description
Chemist4U is proud to be one of the UK's largest online pharmacies, processing over 180,000 prescriptions a month. We’re committed to making healthcare affordable, accessible, and convenient for everyone.
We simplify processes and medication management by leveraging cutting-edge technology and empowering our team. Whether through seamless online services or expert support, we ensure reliable and hassle-free healthcare so our customers can focus on their well-being.
Role Description
The Senior Product Manager for Operational Pharmacy Systems will own the development and optimisation of internal systems that power Chemist4U’s Pharmacy Hub, including dispensing workflows, inventory management, and compliance tools. This role requires product management expertise, blended with pharmacy operations knowledge, and Agile methodologies to deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. GPhC standards), and improve patient outcomes. The Product Manager will collaborate with pharmacists, developers, and stakeholders to drive digital transformation in our operational processes.
Responsibilities
* Product Strategy and Vision: Define and deliver a scalable, compliant product vision and roadmap for operational pharmacy systems, informed by market trends and business needs.
* Backlog Management: Own and prioritise the product backlog across pharmacy tech systems, ensuring clear, actionable stories aligned with regulatory and operational priorities.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead cross-functional alignment with internal leaders and external partners to gather requirements, validate functionality, and drive strategic buy-in.
* System Development and Delivery: Manage Agile delivery cycles, ensuring system updates meet quality, usability, and compliance standards through close coordination with development teams.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Embed regulatory compliance and risk mitigation into system design, working with compliance teams to address inspection and audit outcomes.
* Performance Monitoring: Define KPIs, capture user feedback, and leverage analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous system improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, healthcare, technology, or a related field.
* 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in healthcare, pharmacy, or operational systems.
* Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory, and compliance workflows.
* Understanding of NHS prescription workflows and private prescribing processes.
* Proven track record of managing end-to-end product lifecycles within Agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban).
* Experience with backlog tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and data-driven prioritisation.
* Certification in Agile/Scrum (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) or product management (e.g., Pragmatic Institute) is a plus.
