Our supported accommodation service in Northampton, offer short-term and 24 hour supported accommodation to people who are experiencing or at risk of rough sleeping. We help individuals build independence, access the right support networks, and move on to sustainable accommodation. Does this sound like something you want to be a part of? We are currently recruiting for two Support Workers to join the team. The impact you will have. Working as part of a team, you will play a vital role in helping people improve their quality of life and take steps towards living independently. The support you provide could include: Exploring housing options and tenancy advice Accessing benefits, employment, education or training Linking with food banks, mental health service and substance misuse support Building skills around budgeting and bill-paying skills. Access other services that enable clients to move on successfully Encourage connections with family, friends and the local community Every day will be different, and your support will have a lasting impact. Contract: Permanent Hours: Option 1: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. • Week 1: 3:00pm – 8:00pm • Week 2: 10:00am – 3:00pm Option 2: Average 38.5 hours per week, on a rolling two-week rota. • Week 1: 3 days on, 8:00am – 8:00pm • Week 2: 4 days, 8:00am – 8:00pm Salary : £25,666 to £27,981 per annum, dependent on experience. About you You will have experience of working with people in a supported accommodation setting, who are experiencing homelessness or have a history of rough sleeping who may be experiencing substance misuse, mental health and additional needs. Ideally, you will have experience in strength-based support planning. Each person you meet will have different support needs, so having the ability to treat people with respect, and as an individual is crucial to this role. Part of the role will also include recording information accurately, so a basic level of IT skills will be essential, i.e. responding to and writing emails, typing notes etc. Full training will be given on our internal systems. It is important to us that you are just as passionate as we are in building relationships, striving to support people, achieving outcomes, sharing difficult days and celebrating the good ones. Due to the community element of this role, a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
