EduTalent Group are hiring for an experienced Headteacher to lead a specialist education setting providing high-quality education and behavioural support for children with autism and developmental delays. This is a senior leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape curriculum, governance, and operational excellence while working closely with the Clinical Director and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
* Provide vision and strategic direction, driving school performance and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to implement plans that support innovation and academic excellence.
* Promote an inclusive culture that fosters growth for staff and pupils.
Curriculum & Education Quality
* Oversee the development and delivery of a high-quality curriculum tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Monitor teaching and learning standards, provide feedback, and ensure pupil progress tracking aligns with EHCPs and school expectations.
Safeguarding & Compliance
* Maintain responsibility for safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring statutory compliance.
* Work with external agencies as required and ensure staff are trained and confident in safeguarding procedures.
* Ensure governance and regulatory compliance across both school and early years settings.
Staff Leadership & Development
* Inspire, mentor, and develop teaching and non-teaching staff.
* Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth opportunities, including mentoring ECTs.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong relationships with parents, pupils, staff, and external partners.
* Represent the setting at events, meetings, and conferences.
Operational Oversight
* Ensure operational efficiency including health and safety, risk assessments, budget awareness, and MIS management.
* Oversee behaviour management procedures and promote pupil and staff wellbeing.
Requirements:
* Proven leadership experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
* Strong knowledge of early years, primary education, curriculum development, assessment practices, and SEN provision.
* Experience with safeguarding, child protection, and independent school compliance.
* Strategic thinker with excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
* NASENCo or NPQSENCo qualification advantageous.
* Willingness to learn principles of ABA (prior knowledge of ABA principles are desirable)
