We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception class).This is a split role: 25 hours grade 4 (occasional cover) TA and 5 hours HLTA grade 7. The successful candidate will need to hold a minimum Level 6 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification and have experience of working in a Nursery or Reception class. The HLTA aspect of the role is to cover regular PPA and management time and will require taking responsibility for the whole class. The successful candidate would also be required to cover the teacher for short term absence. Candidates should also: Have a flexible approach to working and the ability to work independently and well within a team Be an excellent classroom practitioner who can support all children to make good progress. Be enthusiastic and reliable with a sense of commitment Have recent experience of working within a school or nursery setting. Is confident in the new EYFS framework. Have an understanding of how children learn, including speech and language development, early reading and writing skills, phonics and emotional/social development. Have high expectations of attainment and behaviour Have energy and enthusiasm, an open and positive approach Be able to work supportively as part of a team Demonstrates a good level of English and Maths, with GCSE qualification graded A-C, or equivalent. Have the ability to confidently follow planning and adapt where necessary to support children’s individual needs. Have experience in delivering intervention programmes for groups and individuals. Be a team player, committed to their own professional development. Have working knowledge of safeguarding practices. Be prepared to participate in the wider life of the school.
