Our client, an engineering and manufacturing focused company with a long history in their niche field, is looking for a General Manager to take control of day-to-day activities for their manufacturing plant. The appointed General Manager will have experience of running an SME business (you need to be able to juggle multiple different priorities and respond to frequent changes to the manufacturing plan) and have previous exposure to sales (you don’t need to be a sales person who wins work, but you need to be confident when interacting with customers) and have a desire to take responsibility. You'll be given free reign to run the company as you see fit. You must have experience working for an SME manufacturer. The business needs leadership and direction both on the shop floor (production, quality and supply chain) and within office based functions (commercial development and account management).

- A recognised engineering qualification and previous experience in a senior role for a manufacturing business
- A broad skill set with knowledge of multiple facets of an engineering and manufacturing focused business: production, quality, maintenance, design, purchasing, sales, etc.
- The desire to take responsibility and be the "go to" person within an SME organisation. Ultimately accountable for all areas of performance
- Good commercial acumen and previous experience of customer interaction
