Panel Technician Job – Accident Repair & Bodyshop | Steer Automotive Group | UK

We are currently recruiting an experienced Panel Technician / Panel Beater to join our professional accident repair and bodyshop team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled vehicle body repair professional looking to develop their career within a fast-growing automotive repair business.

If you have experience in panel repair, vehicle restoration, welding, and accident damage repair — and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship we’d love to hear from you.

Panel Technician Responsibilities

As a Panel Technician, Panel Beater, or Vehicle Body Repair Technician, you will:

14. Carry out structural and cosmetic panel repairs on a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles
15. Replace, repair, and align damaged body panels to manufacturer and safety standards
16. Perform vehicle body repairs using approved accident repair methods and modern bodyshop equipment
17. Complete MIG/MAG welding and panel beating tasks to a high standard
18. Diagnose vehicle body damage and determine the most effective repair techniques
19. Ensure all repairs meet quality control, productivity, and safety requirements
20. Work collaboratively with MET Technicians, Paint Technicians, Estimators, and workshop teams
21. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment

Panel Technician Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

22. Proven experience as a Panel Technician, Panel Beater, Vehicle Body Repair Technician, or Bodyshop Technician
23. Experience working within an accident repair centre, bodyshop, or collision repair environment
24. Strong knowledge of panel repair techniques, body alignment, and vehicle restoration
25. Proficiency in MIG/MAG welding and structural vehicle repair
26. ATA accreditation or equivalent body repair qualification (desirable)
27. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs
28. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards
29. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-focused approach
