Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Rail Infrastructure Location: Doncaster (with regular travel to project sites) ️ Sector: Rail Infrastructure / Civil Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role A well-established, privately owned rail and infrastructure contractor is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a variety of rail projects across the UK, contributing to the successful delivery of works in both track renewals and civil engineering packages. Working from a head office in Doncaster, with regular travel to sites as required, you will support the commercial function across a portfolio of rail infrastructure schemes – from early-stage pricing through to final account. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage NEC and bespoke contracts across multiple rail-related projects Assist with cost forecasting, budgeting, and CVR reporting Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments Liaise with internal project delivery teams and external stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment Prepare and submit accurate interim applications and final accounts Monitor change control and manage variations, early warnings, and compensation events Support monthly commercial reporting and ensure timely input into financial processes Attend regular site meetings to monitor progress and liaise with site teams Requirements Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the rail, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts Familiarity with Network Rail procedures and standards is desirable Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites What’s on Offer Competitive salary, dependent on experience Company vehicle or car allowance Ongoing training and development Opportunity to work on critical UK infrastructure projects within a close-knit, supportive team Clear career progression within a growing business
