Joining our established 3-18 Music programme, you will play a central role in enriching our busy co-curricular offering - supporting choirs, accompanying performers, and helping young musicians grow in confidence and artistry. Responsibilities
* Providing outstanding organ or piano accompaniment for occasional weekday and Sunday chapel services
* Supporting and inspiring the Chapel Choir, including accompanying rehearsals, services, and leading sectional rehearsals where needed
* Teaching the Organ to our Organ Scholars
* Assisting pupils with Theory and Aural training, building secure foundations in musicianship
* Accompanying pupils for concerts, music exams and competitions
* Helping to plan orders of service for major annual events (e.g. Carol Services, Harvest Festival)
* Writing, arranging or conducting orchestral music tailored to the skill level and instrumentation of school ensembles
Qualifications
* Highly proficient Organ performance skills or strong advanced Piano skills suitable for accompanying choirs, ensembles and soloists
* Experience accompanying choirs: following a conductor, supporting rehearsals, and adjusting sensitively to different contexts
* (Desirable) Choral leadership experience, including running effective sectional rehearsals
* Experience teaching the organ-ideally with scholarship-level pupils
* Competence in delivering Music Theory and Aural training up to Grades 5-8
* Experience accompanying pupils in concerts, recitals or public music examinations
* (Advantageous) Experience planning or contributing to school/church liturgical services
* Skills in arranging or composing for school-level orchestras or mixed-ability ensembles
* Strong organisational skills, professionalism and reliability, especially around key school events
* Confidence working with young people in both group and individual settings
* A collaborative, encouraging and flexible approach
