The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially astute and forward-thinking IT leader to join a globally integrated manufacturing and supply chain technology function as Senior Director, IT Business Partner – Sourcing. This is a strategic, high-impact role operating at the intersection of digital transformation and supply chain innovation. You'll partner directly with VP-level stakeholders across Procurement and External Manufacturing to shape and deliver a technology roadmap that elevates sourcing excellence on a global scale.
Your Mission
As a trusted advisor and thought leader in IT, you'll be responsible for driving the digital agenda for sourcing and external manufacturing. You'll lead the end-to-end delivery and optimisation of IT platforms, working proactively to identify opportunities to transform business outcomes through technology.
This role spans the global supply network, but proximity to key stakeholders based in Macclesfield is essential – fostering strong relationships, daily interaction, and joint problem solving.
What You'll Be Doing
* Strategic Partnership: Operate as a business partner to senior Procurement and External Manufacturing leaders, acting as a catalyst for innovation and continuous improvement.
* Technology Leadership: Lead the delivery of sourcing-related platforms (e.g. Coupa, SAP Ariba, ONE Network), managing roadmaps and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships across global teams and geographies – from the UK and US to India – ensuring solutions meet both functional and cultural needs.
* Innovation Focus: Promote experimentation and adoption of emerging technologies (especially AI and automation) that drive operational excellence.
* Team Leadership: Manage a team of senior IT professionals and indirect reports, with responsibility for talent strategy, development, and succession planning.
* End-to-End Delivery: Ensure IT project execution is timely, within budget, and aligned with enterprise standards (SDLC, ITIL).
* Budget & Vendor Management: Oversee sourcing IT budgets and collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure optimal value and compliance.
What We’re Looking For
* Deep experience as an IT business partner in a manufacturing-led global organisation.
* Proven background supporting Procurement (a must-have); External Manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, challenge constructively, and deliver tangible impact.
* Hands-on experience with relevant sourcing and supply chain platforms (e.g. Coupa, SAP Ariba).
* Experience of global programme delivery and matrixed team leadership across geographies.
* Comfort operating in an agile, experimental tech culture, with curiosity around AI and next-gen tools.
* Strong cultural awareness and ability to thrive in a collaborative, non-ego-driven environment.
Ideal Profile
* 18–20+ years of experience in global IT leadership roles
* Experience in pharmaceuticals, FMCG, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing sectors
* Comfortable with a “low-ego, high-growth” culture: proactive, pragmatic, relationship-first
* Open to candidates from across the UK (relocation support available)
