The role This role reports into the Finance Team Leader which is responsible for providing generalist administration support to the firm's busy Finance team. The person This role requires someone with previous administration experience who is computer literate and who is able to thrive in a busy environment where they are required to use their own initiative to solve problems and see work through to its conclusion. Some experience within a Finance department or within a role which involves elements of finance would be useful, but is not essential. Given the nature of this role, it is likely that your background and experience will include: a good working knowledge of Excel and Word; work experience in a role with a level of independence and responsibility; and office based experience within a busy and fast paced team. The role additionally requires someone who: can demonstrate taking ownership of work and problem solving; is able to manage their workload with limited supervision; is logical and systematic in their approach and so able to complete tasks within agreed timeframes; is able to identify new ideas and approaches to how work is structured; and is confident and able to build sustainable relationships colleagues across an organisation. The activities Business and operations support Perform regular system administration tasks including ensuring matter manager or client name changes are completed on the firm's systems, Support the purchase ledger team to triage requests, scan documents, and support deferred tax work. Manage the team inboxes and triage emails/invoices to the correct folders Action admin requests from the teams shared inbox, such as write offs, time transfers and timesheet updates assist with client bank verifications Provide flexible support to other areas of the Finance functions when required Team support Scan and file relevant documents including, but is not limited to billing guides and bank statement, Co-ordinate meetings, as needed including diary management, agenda preparation and arranging refreshments. Where appropriate attend meeting to take/arrange minutes and distribute notes to relevant team member. Ensure timely completion of general administration tasks such as firm's annual rate review letters.
