Help Us Make Advanced Materials… Well, Even More Advanced Morgan Advanced Materials has been around since 1856, which means we’ve had a bit of practice. What started in the UK is now a global business with more than 70 sites across 18 countries. We use ceramics and carbon materials to solve problems that most people don’t even realise exist — and we do it for customers in industries where failure really isn’t an option. The Stourport site is part of our Technical Ceramics business. Think high‑performance, high‑precision components that end up in some of the most demanding applications in the world. The work matters, and so does doing it well. The Role You’ll be the person who helps us make things better — literally. What You’ll Do: Optimize Manufacturing Processes – Develop and implement cost-effective, high-efficiency production methods. Enhance Product Quality – Monitor, test, and refine manufacturing processes to maintain exceptional quality standards. Equipment Oversight – Ensure machinery is properly maintained, repaired, and optimized for smooth operations. Data-Driven Improvements – Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and boost performance. Lead Projects – Manage continuous improvement initiatives in cost reduction, process efficiency, and product development. Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work alongside design, procurement, and quality assurance teams to align manufacturing processes with company objectives. Ensure Compliance – Maintain adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices. Train & Mentor – Support and guide production staff on new processes and best practices. Key Responsibilities Improve manufacturing processes to reduce waste, costs, and headaches Support production teams with day‑to‑day engineering queries Run investigations into process issues and implement fixes that actually stick Introduce new equipment, tooling, or methods without disrupting output Maintain and update process documentation (the useful kind, not just tick‑boxes) Lead small improvement projects and help push bigger ones over the line Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations to keep everything running smoothly What You’ll Bring Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment Comfortable working on the shop floor and with hands-on problem solving Able to analyse process data and spot what needs improving Knowledge of lean or continuous improvement methods (formal or learned on the job) Good communicator – you can explain things simply without the jargon Someone who likes fixing things and seeing tangible results Nice to Have Experience with ceramics, precision engineering, or similar sectors Understanding of PFMEA, control plans, or statistical process control Exposure to automation or process equipment upgrades What You’ll Get A competitive salary, a stable permanent role, and the chance to work in a business that genuinely makes things that matter. You’ll join a supportive engineering team, have opportunities to develop your skills, and work for a company that’s been innovating for more than 165 years… and lived to tell the tale.
