Our Quality Control department is currently recruiting for a Proofreader to join their team, based in our Birmingham office at Fort Dunlop. Ensuring the accuracy of all marketing assets produced for prestigious clients, you’ll need an exceptional eye for detail, an analytical mind, and a strong knowledge of English grammar.
Role Overview
This role is for a general Quality Control executive. Day shifts are typically 8am–4.30pm, 9am–5.30pm, or 10am-6.30pm, scheduled at least a week in advance, including a one-hour lunch break. The schedule is a hybrid pattern of two days at home and three days in our Birmingham office per week. We have recently introduced an evening shift of 3pm–11pm (with a half-hour break) to support our growing department, with some staff rotating between day and night shifts weekly. The night shift can be worked fully remotely.
Key Responsibilities
1. Understanding brand guidelines of multiple clients to ensure compliance and consistency of assets
2. Checking and proofreading artwork and digital content for accuracy against briefs
3. Editing and proofreading copy for spelling, grammar, logic, and brand compliance
4. Collaborating with team members to review work
Requirements
1. Professional proofreading/quality control experience
2. Ability to meet tight deadlines regularly
3. Exceptional spelling and grammar skills
4. Methodical, analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail
5. Ability to work under pressure in a collaborative environment
6. Effective time management skills
7. Proficiency with Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software
8. Knowledge of technical print specifics such as bleed, crop marks, color breakdowns, fonts, and image resolutions
