Overview
To support the Finance Director in the effective running of the finance function by carrying out day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. The Accounts Assistant will help maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely processing of transactions, and contribute to the smooth delivery of monthly and annual accounts.
Responsibilities
* · Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices, and staff expenses
· Managing accounts payable and receivable ledgers
· Reconciling supplier statements and assisting with query resolution
· Preparing and posting journals
· Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations
· Maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records
· Supporting payroll with timesheets and staff expense submissions
· Assisting in preparation of VAT returns and other statutory submissions
· Preparing information for management accounts, budgets, and cashflow forecasts
· Liaising with suppliers, clients, and staff regarding finance queries
· Supporting the Finance Director with ad hoc reporting, year-end accounts, and audit preparation
Qualifications
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position is preferred.
* Proficiency in accounting software such Sage 50 Acconts Professional, highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services operations.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong numerical skills and a good understanding of basic accounting principles.

Pay: £18,315.00-£33,171.90 per year
