We're looking for someone passionate about people and eager to make an impact by supporting both day-to-day HR operations and strategic initiatives.
Based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, this role will support the People Partner and Leadership Team in implementing People strategies aligned with business objectives. As a Junior People Partner, you will provide hands-on support across day-to-day HR activities while also contributing to broader strategic initiatives. You will work closely with managers to build capability, foster a positive employee experience, and help deliver key people priorities across the business.
Responsibilities
1. Support the added value, transactional, ethical, and compliance activities to ensure standards are achieved.
2. Provide developmental support, coaching, and guidance to line managers to ensure colleagues perform to expected results, and that clear guidance is given on building capability.
3. Govern all relevant HR systems to ensure accuracy of information that meets business and audit requirements, including time and attendance. Maintain HR systems and ensure data integrity within HRIS platforms.
4. Act as the first point of contact for managers, providing expert advice on all stages of the colleague lifecycle and related policies, procedures, and employment law.
5. Assist in preparing reports and presentations for HR metrics such as turnover rates, engagement scores, and project progress.
6. Manage disciplinaries, grievances, and absence cases in collaboration with line managers, providing employee relations advice and coaching on low to medium risk issues.
7. Engage with trade unions or colleague representatives on matters related to terms and conditions, negotiations, and consultations.
Requirements:
* CIPD membership and qualification or relevant HR experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Proven experience with HR systems and administrative skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to make fair decisions aligned with policies and procedures.
