Main duties of the job
The Vehicle Technician ensures all vehicle repairs, maintenance, and servicing are completed efficiently and within standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, deciding on repairs, and maintaining vehicles to MOT standards. Candidates should have a C1 license or be willing to obtain one within 6 months, funded by the Trust, with a commitment to stay for at least two years.
Note: The role involves participating in a 24-hour breakdown service, which may require call-outs at night and weekends with compensatory time off.

Person specification
Driving Licence
* C1 License or ability to achieve
* Full UK Driving Licence
Experience
* Post-apprenticeship experience in vehicle mechanics
* Experience in NHS maintenance environment preferred
Qualifications
* NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance Repair or equivalent
* Membership or affiliation with IRTE or IMI is desirable
Skills
* Ability to work under tight schedules and adverse conditions, achieving results
