Purpose of the Behaviour Mentor Role
The purpose of this Behaviour Mentor role is to support students who are at risk of disengagement, exclusion, or underachievement due to behavioural or emotional difficulties. You will act as a key adult, helping students feel safe, understood, and supported within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a Behaviour Mentor in Tilehurst, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 mentoring for students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs
* Delivering small group interventions focused on emotional regulation, confidence-building, and social skills
* Supporting students in lessons to improve focus, participation, and behaviour
* Working with pupils during transitions, break times, and lunch periods
* Supporting students during moments of emotional dysregulation
* De-escalating challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
* Supporting pupils returning from fixed-term exclusions or behaviour-related incidents
* Assisting with the implementation of behaviour support plans and intervention strategies
* Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, and senior leaders
* Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate behaviour records
* Upholding safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries
