About the job We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Crypto Security Specialist to join our existing experienced team. What do we look for in a Logistics & Crypto Security Specialist? Responsibilities: Logistics Management Manage equipment movement within an FLC context, applying knowledge of MOD logistics systems and processes including DCS and TORCS. Coordinate transportation, storage, and accountability of equipment in line with MOD standards. Operate and maintain JAMES and NDJI systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry. Use spreadsheet tools to analyse logistics data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders. Cryptographic & Security Custodianship Maintain compliance with MOD security and cryptographic policies including JSP 440, JSP 491, and JSP 441. Oversee the secure handling, storage, issue, and accounting of cryptographic materials. Support the Personnel Security Controller in delivering personnel‑security responsibilities and ensuring adherence to Government security standards. Manage pre‑vetting checks (BPSS) and coordinate National Security Vetting (NSV) processes, including oversight of UKSV access and sponsor responsibilities. Ensure aftercare, incident reporting, and change‑of‑circumstance processes are followed for all vetted personnel. Maintain a personnel‑security risk register, ensuring risks are documented, mitigated, and monitored. Provide security education, briefings, and awareness training, including travel briefings for SC/DV‑cleared staff. Facilitate Government or Contracting Authority inspections, ensuring documentation and processes are available and compliant. Export Controls Manage export‑controlled items in accordance with ITAR, RTON, and other relevant regulations. Oversee documentation, approvals, and audit trails for export‑controlled equipment. Governance & Stakeholder Engagement Ensure senior managers understand and discharge their security and logistics obligations. Promote coherent and aligned security, HR, welfare, and operational policies. Liaise effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and external authorities. Support decision‑making on acceptable security risk and drive mitigation activity. Requirements Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills. Excellent organisational ability with a methodical, detail‑focused approach. Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Analytical capability with proficiency in spreadsheet tools. Qualifications & Experience Experience as a logistician or involvement in equipment movement within an FLC or MOD environment. Familiarity with MOD logistics systems (DCS, TORCS, JAMES, NDJI) and MOD security policies (JSP 440/441/491). Experience managing cryptographic materials or personnel‑security processes. Knowledge of export controls, including ITAR and RTON. Multiple years of security‑related experience, ideally including physical‑security or data‑centre environments. Strong understanding of networking‑security principles as they relate to physical and cryptographic security. Experience communicating risk and compliance requirements to senior stakeholders.
