About the Role:
Join our UK & Ireland Procurement team as an Assistant Buyer, where you'll play a key role in delivering smart, strategic sourcing across a diverse supplier base. You'll support category strategies, manage purchasing activities, and help ensure business continuity by balancing cost, quality, and delivery, all while driving responsible sourcing and building strong stakeholder relationships.
We’re looking for someone commercially astute and operationally sharp, ready to connect the dots between business needs and supply chain excellence. If you're passionate and curious about procurement and eager to make an impact in a fast-moving, complex environment, this role offers the perfect platform to grow.
Main Responsibilities:
As Assistant Buyer, you'll be at the heart of strategic sourcing, analysing category performance, understanding supplier capabilities, and aligning procurement decisions with long-term business goals. You'll collaborate closely with regional and central teams to shape category strategies that deliver value, agility, and resilience across the UK & Ireland.
You’ll play a key role in forecasting and budgeting, helping to deliver cost-saving initiatives and value-enhancing projects that support financial targets. From managing supplier performance and contracts to driving continuous improvement, you’ll ensure our vendor relationships are productive, accountable, and aligned with service expectations.
This role also offers the chance to influence innovation, bringing fresh ideas from the supply base into the business and helping internal teams stay ahead of market trends. You’ll support sourcing activities end-to-end, from tenders and negotiations to supplier onboarding and project delivery, ensuring every procurement decision is robust, compliant, and commercially sound.
You'll keep operations running smoothly through diligent administration, managing purchase orders, supplier claims, and invoice holds with precision. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role that blends strategic thinking with operational excellence, perfect for someone ready to grow in a fast-paced, global business.
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded individual with solid experience in procurement systems, particularly SAP and SAP Ariba, and a sharp eye for data analysis.
You’ll be confident managing purchasing processes, juggling multiple priorities, and using your Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint) to bring clarity and insight to your work.
A results-driven mindset, strong customer orientation, and the ability to manage projects with analytical precision are essential to thrive in this role.
Additional experience in sourcing strategy implementation, contract development, or working within a global business environment would be highly advantageous.
Candidates with strong influencing skills or a CIPS qualification will be well-positioned to contribute effectively and grow within our team.
How to be successful in the role and at Ferrero:
Consumers, quality and care are at the heart of everything we do. So, to be successful at Ferrero, you’ll need to be just as consumer and product centric as we are - dedicated to crafting brilliant results for consumers around the world.
