What is great about the role? Merthyr Young Person’s scheme provides emergency accommodation to 11 young people age 16-35 who are facing homelessness in the local area. The service focuses on empowering young people to gain independence through developing tenancy management skills in preparation for independent living. How you will make a difference The role will be varied and involve managing a team of colleagues to deliver a quality housing support service to vulnerable people in supported accommodation. You will be involved in building a reputation for excellence through partnership working, service improvement and developing and motivating your team. You will inspire, challenge and manage your team to improve performance and outcomes for people who use our services. You will also be responsible for staff’s wellbeing, coaching, mentoring and supervision as well as enable the people who access our services to lead successful and independent lives. You will Oversee the running of the service including health and safety, on-going maintenance and neighbour relationships. Be responsible for the management of all staff including regular supervisions, training and development, HR procedures and recruitment and induction Be responsible for the annual budget and monitoring the service’s income Ensure that advice is given on welfare rights, permanent housing options and other associated information according to the needs and wishes of the customers. Ensure that customers receive resettlement advice as and when appropriate to address their move-on needs. Monitor the service and produce and amend procedures as appropriate Build relationships and liaise with local neighbourhoods, businesses, commissioners, and council Who are we looking for? You will have had previous experience in a support environment and have a good understanding of leadership and management. In addition you will be able to demonstrate the ability to; supervise, motivate and develop staff produce concise, accurate written reports liaise and negotiate effectively to resolve problems produce concise, accurate written reports Pobl Benefits Competitive salary of £31,899.00 Full-time (37 hrs), permanent Work Pattern: Predominantly Monday-Friday office hours although flexibility is required.
