A well-established and highly regarded engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit a Purchaser to join their team. The business operates within a precision engineering environment, supplying to demanding industries and offering a stable, long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
* Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements
* Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers
* Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues
* Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to support operational requirements
* Maintain accurate records within ERP systems
* Assist with stock control and inventory management where required
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and procurement processes
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
The Candidate
* Previous experience within a purchasing/procurement role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers
* Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices
* Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
* Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel
* Proactive, organised, and a strong team player
* Attention to detail with a commercial mindset
£30,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
