Here at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Assistant who can develop and maintain effective relations with customers and external suppliers. This position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication, and supervisory skills, along with a basic understanding of risk and conflict management.
The key purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive and efficient shop service to residents, dependent children, and staff. You will manage stock control systems to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained at all times and participate in the ordering process.
You will use computer-based software to service the residents' shop requirements and ensure that stock is held appropriately and securely to minimize shrinkage due to theft or deterioration. You’ll keep detailed and accurate sales and purchase records to facilitate efficient payments to suppliers and liaise with other departments when required.
What you'll need to do the role?
You will be self-motivated, able to use your initiative, and work to tight deadlines. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the following:
* Experience working within a retail environment
* Experience working in a high-pressure operation
