Strategic Capability Lead (Home Office Digital) – Product, Delivery & Architecture
A Lead Business Analyst will have a good understanding of strategic arenas, leading large and complex projects. They will employ strong people management, mentoring, and coaching skills and develop best practices to assist communities of practice, ensuring outcomes align with the service vision and business strategy while delivering future business architecture.
What You’ll Do
* Define, plan, and lead Business Analysis delivery on significant assignments.
* Work with the Head of Role to develop and embed clear and consistent Business Analysis standards, guidance, and templates across the profession.
* Understand and define the problem to be solved, ensuring strategic decision‑making supports business outcomes and user needs.
* Plan and lead significant Business Analysis delivery areas, owning the challenge and driving through to conclusions.
* Develop a specialist area, delivering coaching and mentoring to staff to grow their Business Analysis, professional skill set, confidence, and strategic thinking; oversee work to focus on right solutions.
* Advise the business on metrics to ensure product adds value and identify service improvement opportunities.
* Model complex processes/procedures using established techniques with clear purpose and importance.
Essential Skills
* Build strong, strategic relationships, empathise, negotiate, and influence stakeholders.
* Collaborate with user researchers and champion user research to focus on all users and define approaches to understand the user story.
* Recent experience delivering technology projects.
* Strategic thinking: turn long‑term goals and outcomes into tactical solutions.
* Guide teams to decide the best approach, visualise outcomes, prioritise work, and agree on minimum viable product.
* Elicit requirements, lead investigations, and implement changes to programme scope.
