At RNIB, technology plays a vital role in protecting the services and data that support blind and partially sighted people across the UK. We’re looking for an IT Security Engineer to help strengthen our cyber security capability and safeguard our digital estate.
Working closely with the Head of Cyber Security and wider Technology and Information Governance teams, you’ll support the monitoring, improvement and day to day operation of RNIB’s security controls. From incident response and vulnerability management to compliance with standards such as ISO, you’ll play a key role in keeping our systems secure, resilient and trusted.
This is a great opportunity for a security professional who enjoys hands on technical work, collaboration and making a real difference in a purpose driven organisation.
What you’ll bring:
1. Experience supporting IT security operations in a complex environment.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and cloud platforms.
3. Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
4. Understanding of data protection legislation and security compliance frameworks.
5. Experience with vulnerability management and endpoint protection tools.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
