Finance/Business Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance and Business Manager to join our team at SRS Joinery at our location in High Wycombe.
You will be responsible for the oversight of end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, maintenance of all the accounting records, balance sheet reconciliations, provision of support for managers in terms of HR, business administration and office management. You will also be expected to look to make improvements to processes, procedures and controls and support ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.
Responsibilities include
* Management of all accounting transactions including accounts payable & receivables
* Preparation and posting of monthly accruals, prepayments, stock & work in progress, deferred income and similar accounting entries.
* Responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes
* Handling monthly, quarterly and annual closings
* Ensuring timely bank payments
* Preparation of monthly profit/loss and balance sheet statements in time, preferably within third week of the following month
* Setting up of a basic cost and project accounting system
* Maintaining fixed assets and hire purchase/ leasing liabilities register (spreadsheet)
* Dealing and assisting with working capital management and production of monthly cash flow forecasts
* Acting as an audit liaison and collaborating with external auditors
* Personnel record keeping for HR systems and health & safety including training records
* Maintenance of job costing records and systems
* Managing and updating ‘Jobs & Work in Progress Master Spreadsheet’
* Dealing with insurance brokers in respect of business insurance.
* Procurement of office and other supplies
* Organisation of utilities
About you
This is both internally and externally facing role requiring self-motivation, attention to detail and tact. You will need:
* Experience of: dealing with and maintaining all the books and records, preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow, payroll, preparation of annual accounts and taxation of the Company
* Familiarity with administrative, statutory, regulatory matters
* Experience of Xero accounting system would be desirable, but not essential
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
* Organised and diligent
* Able to work under pressure to meet set goals
* Attention to detail
* Good communications skills
* Dedicated to maintaining high quality standards
* Commercially aware
* Qualified or part qualified from recognised professional accounting body or equivalent relevant experience
