Marleybones is hiring an Operations & Supply Chain Manager to run and optimise the operational engine of a fast-scaling FMCG brand.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role where you'll work directly with the founders — translating sales forecasts into disciplined production plans, holding suppliers accountable, and driving measurable improvements in cost, yield and operational performance.
This role combines operational execution with clear commercial accountability.

Marleybones began when co-founder Josephine struggled to find food that truly worked for her dog, Marley. His fussiness and digestive issues meant constantly switching brands, yet nothing delivered the freshness, taste or nutritional quality he needed.
We created Pantry Fresh meals using freshly prepared ingredients that are gently cooked in pack to retain nutritional value. Shelf-stable, preservative-free and served in pantry-friendly, planet-friendly packaging, our food makes fresh feeding simpler for modern dog owners.
Alongside our treats, supplements and tailored feeding plans, we help dogs live healthier, happier lives.
Through our DTC subscription model and partnerships with retailers including Waitrose, Co-op, Whole Foods Market, Pets at Home, Ocado and Amazon, we're making high-quality nutrition more accessible.
In August 2025, Marleybones closed a further funding round backed by TAW Ventures, JamJar (Innocent founders), Active Partners and veterinarians from Animal Health Angels to support continued growth and expansion.
About the role
You'll take full responsibility for our supply chain across 12+ SKUs, 8 manufacturing and packaging partners, and a hybrid DTC + retail model — ensuring production, logistics and inventory run smoothly while protecting margin and working capital.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Supply Chain
Own the full supply chain from forecast → production → 3PL → customer
Lead production planning across multiple co-manufacturers
Drive OTIF >99% across DTC and retail
Supplier & Cost Management
Own supplier relationships and negotiations
Challenge yield, cost movements and rate cards
Implement performance standards and escalate early
Margin & Working Capital
Protect and refine COGS
Optimise inventory levels and stock days
Manage production cadence to avoid stock-outs and overproduction
Systems & Performance
Own operational reporting and performance visibility
Monitor 3PL performance and cost per shipment
Maintain strong quality oversight across manufacturing partners
Scaling & Optimisation
Assess and onboard new co-manufacturers
Lead packaging transitions
Identify structural margin improvement opportunities
What Success Looks Like
Forecast accuracy drives minimal overstock and stock-outs
Production cadence is predictable and efficient
Retail launches and pipe-fills are seamless
OTIF consistently exceeds 99%
Suppliers are proactively managed and performance improves over time
Gross margin is protected and incrementally strengthened
Inventory days reduce without increasing stock-out risk
About You
4–8 years in supply chain, operations or production within FMCG or food
Experience managing multiple co-manufacturers and 3PL partners
Strong commercial instinct — you understand margin, cost structures and working capital
Confident negotiating and holding suppliers accountable
Comfortable working directly with founders in a scale-up environment
Highly organised, analytical and detail-driven
Strong Excel skills and operational systems experience
Calm under pressure and comfortable making decisions
