About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for providing strong leadership, contract management, project delivery, and strategic planning. Customer-driven within the Power Division, ensuring safety, financial, and operational targets are met or exceeded, while maintaining exceptional customer service levels across all projects.
What you will be doing:
1. Day-to-day management of site staff, sub-contractors, vehicles, equipment, and site issues
2. Actively monitor performance of all site staff, including subcontractors, regarding Health and Safety, Quality, and Environment
3. Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and remedies implemented
4. Monitor performance and safety requirements regularly and implement improvements
5. Survey and quote individual projects based on a contract schedule of rates
6. Ensure resources are adequate for the workload and that projects are delivered economically and timely
7. Ensure Ipsum Power policies and improvement action plans are effectively implemented, monitored, and audited
8. Operate in full compliance with Ipsum Power and UK Power Networks policies, procedures, and instructions
9. Promote continuous improvement and innovation in working methodology
10. Work closely with the support team to ensure delivery programmes are in place and progress monitored
11. Identify and resolve problems swiftly before escalation
12. Responsible for project profitability and rapid conversion of work completed to cash received
13. Maintain and measure performance against KPIs and SLAs
14. UKPN client reporting and liaison, including progress meetings and audits
15. Monitor subcontractors
16. Establish good relationships with key stakeholders and resolve issues early
What you will bring:
* Proven experience in Project Management within Power Distribution Engineering
* ONC / HNCElectrical Engineering preferred; C&G 232 or equivalent essential
* Experience in Contract and Project Management within the power sector, preferably on a UKPN contract
* Knowledge of measuring work achievement and providing reliable payment information
* Experience in assessing and certifying subcontractor payments
* Experience in customer service environments with performance management responsibility
* Professional, customer-focused, with strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills
* Ability to analyze and interpret data
* Knowledge of waste network operations business processes
* Evidence of implementing successful improvement measures
* Passion for Health and Safety, believing Zero Harm is achievable
* Knowledge of KPI measurements to ensure compliance with targets
* IT proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to develop and reward team members
* Leadership skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
* Effective communication skills
* Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* Professional, positive attitude
* Self-motivated, organized, flexible
* Full UK Driving License
