* Direct Reports: Causal Coach Developers / Emerging Talent Centre (FA Talent Pathway) Staff
* Job Type: Full time 37.5 hrs per week - 2 Year Fixed Term ends June 2028
* Working Arrangements: Hybrid including travel across Cornwall an expectation of working countywide and additional travel to other locations and/or with overnight stays nationwide.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Football Delivery Officer (Coach and Player Development) will lead the growth, quality and sustainability of coaching and player pathways across Cornwall. Aligned with our strategic aim to unleash the full potential of the county's talent pool, the role works with key stakeholders to ensure coaches and players have access to meaningful, people centred development opportunities at every stage of the game. The postholder will design and deliver high quality coach development programmes within England Football Accredited Clubs, embedding the principles of the FA Learning Coach Development Framework and ensuring coaches receive impactful mentoring, training and support. They will oversee the delivery of the Girls Emerging Talent Centre (FA Talent Pathway) and Advanced Development Centre, lead the Cornwall Representative Teams programme, and align pathways with partner organisations to maximise opportunities for players and coaches. This role plays a central part in shaping positive learning environments, strengthening local talent pathways and ensuring that coaching across Cornwall is inclusive, accessible and of the highest standard.


About The Role


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinate and deliver a Coach Development Programme for the County supporting coaches at all levels of the game incorporating club, county and regional delivery.
* Deliver Coach Developer Training for Club Coaching Leads across the County in line with the FA Coach Developer Framework and supporting materials.
* Implement the Quality Assurance and Development of the Coaching Leads in club.
* Support the deployment of Casual Workforce in line with the FA's approach to meet the needs of clubs locally.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including FA Regional staff, FA Casual Workforce, and other strategic partners to support the development of Coach Development & Thriving Community Clubs.
* Ensure that all coach development activity is aligned with the FA Learning Coach Development Framework, embedding the principles of learning design, coach developer behaviours, and holistic people development.
* Engage 2-star and 3-star England Football Accredited clubs with the Thriving Community Clubs Framework and support them with completing relevant assessments for the Coaching pillar.
* Support clubs in their development of a club specific Coach Development plan/programme that reflects FA Learning principles and prioritises the long-term development of people as well as football outcomes.
* Plan and deliver the Girls Emerging Talent Centre (FA Talent Pathway) and Advanced Development Centre, including recruiting and managing the staffing team and being the technical lead, driving standards and developing coaches.
* Plan and deliver the U16s boys and girls representative squads including recruitment and support of the wider rep squad staffing team.
* Work closely with strategic partners to align pathways.
* Undertake safeguarding compliance visits in support of the County FA.
* Risk assess all events and activities where the County FA directly employ or deploy under-18 referees, coaches and volunteers.
* Support messaging so that under-18s in youth and open-age adult County FA-led football know how to report any concerns about their wellbeing.
* Liaise with the DSO and follow through on opportunities to listen to and consult with under-18s on their experience of playing, learning and volunteering.
