Overview

An enthusiastic and motivated individual is required for this exciting post. You will be working as part of a diverse team, alongside nurses, ACPs, medical staff and other support staff to ensure patients receive the best possible care on the Combined Triage Assessment Unit (CTAU). There may be additional requests to cover within associated Cancer Departments at times at the Royal Derby Hospital. A flexible approach to working patterns is required and you will participate in a shift system which covers 7 days per week. Closing date: 23 September 2025. Interview date: 7 October 2025.

Responsibilities

* Undertake a range of delegated, extended clinical tasks to support the CTAU team.
* Undertake a range of administrative tasks and assist in the implementation of care according to patients’ individual needs as directed by the nurse in charge.
* Welcome patients, provide reassurance and empathy, and maintain patient flow while working under pressure.
* Contribute effectively as a member of the multi-professional team and communicate to a high standard; adapt to a changing environment as services develop.
* Maintain and support the effective use of available resources (equipment, people and stock) in an efficient way.
* Complete all appropriate documents clearly, accurately and in a timely manner; participate in reporting processes as necessary.


Clinical Skills and Qualifications

* Initialise venepuncture and cannulation; point-of-care testing; extend scope of practice to undertaking ECGs (skills in venepuncture, cannulation and ECGs would be advantageous).
* A flexible approach to working patterns and the ability to work within a 7-day shift system.
* Willingness to develop and practice a wide range of skills.
